Hi I'm Kevin, I've been a customer of first direct since 1989, I think I actually joined the bank about a month after it first opened. A couple of years ago we had to do a very quick mortgage application, first direct were fantastic. They actually turned the mortgage application round - from us actually applying (we were on holiday in France at the time) to actual monies being sent through to my solicitor within 10 days. That's 10 days, not 10 working days, but 10 days, in total from start to finish. It was the fastest turnaround of any application that my solicitors had ever seen and he was absolutely gob-smacked. And throughout all that we just dealt with really enthusiastic people, nothing was too much for them. I really just struck up a rapport with the appointed contact, who was looking after me and she was brilliant and the bank as a whole was just absolutely superb. I just can't say enough about them, they're just excellent at what they do, and as I said before, I don't recommend anything, but I do recommend first direct.
