Hi my name's Kate. I'm a first direct customer and I have a savings account, an ISA, a current account and an offset mortgage. The best way to describe the offset mortgage for me is that it utilises all the assets that I've got with first direct and makes sure that I don't pay any more interest on my loan than I have to. It wasn't at all tricky to arrange. I am an existing first direct customer so when I said that I would like an offset mortgage they filled in all the forms for me. They had most of the information already and I just had to sign the forms and send it back. I use the web all the time so it's very easy for me to actually check my account, look at how the mortgage is coming down and what assets I've got that are being offset against that loan. It's very easy to use and I would recommend it.
